Suarez Hurts Liverpool, Messi's Sublime double puts Barca on the brink of Champions League final


Barcelona started the match with 4-3-3 formation Messi and Coutinho playing wider and Suarez as a striker against Liverpool's 4-3-1-2 formation Naby Keita, Fabinho and Milner playing in the Centre and Mane and Mo Sala playing as strikers.





First half was started with full intensity. Both teams were hungry to take an early lead, pressing each other high up the pitch and tried to create chances however Barca was a better side in terms of pressing the back four through constant movement of Lionel Messi and Suarez.

In 27th minute Jordi Alba down the left wing played a beautiful low cross and Suarez beat Allison with an elegant touch to give Barca a lead against his old club. Jordi Alba created 5th goal of champions league campaign leading the table.

In 35th Minute Henderson created a beautiful open chance for Sadio Mane he missed an easy chance to get a crucial away goal for his team. It could have been a killer blow for the home side.  Liverpool could not make a single shot on target in the first 45 Minutes.  Barca finished the first half with possession 51% to 49% of Liverpool.

Liverpool made a fantastic start to the second half and created an early chance through James Milner who took a shot from 20 yards out. Ter Stegen made a beautiful save on his left.


5 minutes later Mo Salah forces Ter Stegen to make anther splendid save on the right bottom corner.


Messi passes a through ball to Raktic who failed to touch the ball, Suarez had an open chance, he hits the crossbar with his knee and Messi finishes on the follow up. Messi doubles the lead for Barcelona at Camp Nou. Second goal was a boost for the home team.




Referee shows yellow card to Fabinho in 82nd minute who fouls Messi giving away a dangerous free kick on 25 yards. Messi pulled off an insane free kick on the right top corner with his favorite left foot. What a strike, no chance for the Liverpool shot stopper.


 Lionel Messi takes his telly to 10 goals in this Champions league campaign and 600th goal of his career. This is may be the best free kick goal of his career. Barcelona takes 3 goal advantage in first leg of the Semi final.



Liverpool had a huge chance to get a big away goal, but Roberto Firmino’s shot was cleared off the line by Jordi Alba and Salah hit the post against an open net, and Barça dodged a big, big bullet. The Reds continued to attack in the final minutes as they desperately searched for a goal, but in vain. 

What a magical night it was at Camp Nou.
